Who we are

Contee is operated by Contee Pte. Ltd.. This policy explains how we handle personal data when you use the Contee website and product. Questions go to support@contee.app.

What we collect

Account data: your email address and name, the company you belong to and your role in it. Sign-in is by a link sent to your email, so we hold no password. Access is by invitation only.

Connected content: the issues, messages, pages, files, tickets, mail, meeting notes and call summaries your company connects from Linear, Jira, Slack, Notion, Google Drive, Figma, Granola, Fathom or Gmail, and anything you paste, such as a call transcript. We store the text so it can be searched and cited, and we sync each connection when it is made and once a day after that. The credentials for a connection are encrypted at rest and are never shown again after saving.

Your work in Contee: questions you ask, answers and drafts, Skills you write, documents you approve, and any ticket or document you choose to file or export.

Usage data: which features were used, when, and the size and cost of model calls. We record the metadata of a call, not its content, for metering.

Audit data: every search and every permission change, with the member who made it, so a company can see who looked at what.

Website data: the name, work email, company, team size and goals you give us on the early-access form, and standard server logs. We count page views with Vercel Web Analytics, which records the page, the referring site, and your country, browser and device type, without cookies and without following you across other sites. This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies.

How we use it

To run the product: index your company's content, answer questions with the sources cited, draft proposals and PRDs from your own past work, and file or export them where you ask.

To keep companies separate: every record belongs to one company and the database enforces that boundary itself. Our own application cannot read across companies.

To operate the service: monitoring, support, security, and billing once pricing is published.

To reply to you: when you request early access or write to us.

We do not sell personal data and we do not use your company's content to train models.

Data from Google

When you connect Gmail or Google Drive, Contee reads only what it needs to search and cite that content for your company. Contee's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

In practice: we use Google data only to provide the features you see in Contee. We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not use it to train AI models, ours or anyone else's. We pass it to a processor (such as OpenAI, to answer a question) only as needed to provide those features. No person at Contee reads it unless you ask us to for support, it is needed for security or to follow the law, or it has been made anonymous.

Who else sees it

Processors acting on our instructions: Resend (sends sign-in emails), OpenAI (receives the text needed to answer a question or write a draft and processes it under its business terms, which do not permit training on it), Vercel (hosts the website and counts page views), and Railway and Render (run the application servers and database).

Connected services: when you file a ticket, export a document or let a workflow post somewhere, the content you confirmed is sent to that service under its own terms. Nothing is sent to a connected service without a person confirming it.

We do not share personal data with anyone else unless the law requires it.

Retention and deletion

Connected content stays while the connection exists. Disconnecting a tool ends our access to it at once; the content it already synced stays searchable until you ask us to delete it, and we then delete it within 14 days. Disconnecting your Gmail deletes your stored mail at once. When a company closes its account, we delete its content within 14 days. Copies may remain in encrypted backups for up to 30 days, then those backups are overwritten.

Audit records of searches and permission changes are kept for 12 months, then deleted. Usage metadata is kept while the company account is open and deleted with it.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, and the credentials for each connection are encrypted at rest. Each company's data is kept separate by the database itself, and access by our team is limited to what is needed to run and support the service. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects your personal data, we will tell you without undue delay.

Children

Contee is a work tool and is not meant for anyone under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children; if you believe we have, write to support@contee.app and we will delete it.

If Contee changes hands

If Contee Pte. Ltd. is merged, acquired or sells its business, personal data may pass to the new owner, who must keep to this policy. We will tell the owner of each company before that happens.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have rights to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict processing. Contact support@contee.app and we will respond within 14 days.

Changes

We will post changes to this policy here and update the effective date. If a change matters to you, we will email the owner of each company before it takes effect.
